How Unions Work - Podcast - Extra Credit

Please review the Stuff You Should Know Podcast: How Labor Unions Work

When done listening, please complete the reflection and response form.  Earn extra credit by demonstrating learning from the podcast.  This can be completed any time by the end of February.

As we examined labor and industrialization in the late 19th century, this podcast give an in depth look at labor organizations, and their functions.  As workers began to understand their value in the face of Robber Barons' increasing profits, unions helped establish rights, working conditions, and collective bargaining agreements to aid workers.

Finally, you might want to examine the three major unions addressed on AP US History exams a bit more than we did in class:
Knights of Labor
The Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) aka the Wobblies
The American Federation of Labor (AFL)
